gaps in archaeology 2007-8

taking artefacts from leicester's museums, re-making them as art objects, and interviewing representatives from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds as they interpreted the ‘re-made artefacts’. gathering unusual interpretations from outside of the archaeological and anthropological fields, participants included representatives from the leicester council of faiths, academics in material and visual culture, ecology, folklore and even a local councillor for transport.

outcomes were a comprehensive website, an audio-guide and an essay published by routledge.
